Inis Cathaigh - Scattery Island
The Round Tower on Scattery, like other round towers was built sometime between 800 and 1100 or so. Unlike other round towrs it's notalby high at about 40m and is particularly unusual in having its door at ground level insted of much higher up. Nowadays the consensus seems to be that round towers were built as bell towers (clogtheach).
